ASELSAN and STM sign Contract for Gendarmerie Helicopter Mission Support System

Within the scope of the Turkish Gendarmerie Helicopter Modernization Project, on February 16, 2009, STM A.Ş. signed a contract for Provision of Mission Support Systems (MSS) for 26 Helicopters as the subcontractor of ASELSAN A.Ş.

MSS will allow pilots and flight crews to computerize the mission-related activities in their mission cycles, thereby reducing the labour demand and ensuring that the crew focuses on the main objectives of the mission.

The system to be developed for helicopters is an extension of STM’s MSS product range. Application of the avionic architecture developed specifically for the Gendarmerie Helicopters and customization to user requirements will be done in a cost-effective way by maintaining the main concept of the product through some additional work building on past projects, thanks to STM’s vast knowledge gained in the area. Moreover, because of the modular design and open architecture adopted by STM for products in this group, STM can produce flexible solutions for all project requirements by developing windows, real-time and similar platforms.

Strengthening its capabilities oriented to improve its Mission Support System, Command Control and Information System, Ground Mission Planning and similar systems in line with international standards through this Project, STM will continue to produce software that meet the needs of aerial vehicles in both military and civil areas.
