At the Cyber Warfare Symposium (SOS 2009) organized by SASAD (Defence Industry Manufacturers Association of Turkey) on December 10, 2009, Şebnem VURAL from  STM’s Corporate Information Management Department delivered a presentation on “Network Security Control”.

At the STM-sponsored symposium, after a short introduction on information security, VURAL’s presentation focused on phases that enable technical controls on network security and gave examples from current events and cyber threats.

The presentation elaborated on how systems are breached using network security gaps at the phases of information collection, scanning and identification of vulnerabilities.

VURAL also described the reporting phase, which include the results of all tests conducted throughout the process and the necessary measures and precautions to be taken, and shared various conclusions and evaluations on the subject.
