2007 Award Ceremony for STM R&D Project Contest was held on 18 June 2008 under the auspices of the Turkish Undersecretary for Defence Industries and Chairman of the Board of Directors of STM.

Within the scope of the company’s strategic goals on R&D, all employees were asked to submit their R&D proposals on electronic medium via e-Corporate, as a result of which 60 project proposals were collected.

The project proposals were then put through a pre-selection phase via a survey carried out on e-Corporate by the corporate technical group, taking into consideration criteria of  “authenticity”, “developability” and “market-oriented”. Out of 17 projects shortlisted after the pre-selection phase, the Selection Board decided to reward 6 projects.

At the ceremony, the Turkish Undersecretary for Defence Industries and Chairman of the Board of Directors of STM Mr. Murad BAYAR, STM General Manager Recep BARUT and STM Corporate Information Management Manager Hayrullah KALE delivered speeches, and the Project owners gave brief information on their projects after receiving their rewards and plaques.

The speeches delivered at the ceremony expressed strong wishes for gains to be acquired from realizing the projects that secured the first six places at the R&D Pre-Selections, first launched by STM.
