Feasibility Project for Satellite Based Approach and Landing System

Satellite Based Approach and Landing Systems, allow the aircraft to maintain their operations in challenging weather and terrain conditions. With the project signed with Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) on December 2013; the feasibility activities have been conducted for the development of Satellite Based Approach and Landing Systems by using national capabilities at the highest level.

Within the scope of the project; definition of Operational Concept, investigation of current studies in NATO and other countries, determining draft system architectural design solutions, certification requirements of potential airborne and ground systems, national capabilities and market analysis studies have been conducted.

National Tactical Data Link  Feasibility Project

With the project contract signed with Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) on June 2012, the national requirements for developing the National Tactical Data Link (NTDL) system and advantages of using a national TDL system have been intended.

With the feasibility studies, user requirements of the NTDL System and critical system requirements that will best meet the user requirements have been identified. Trend technologies and international technical studies on current Tactical Data Links (TDL) such as Link 16 and Link 22, have been studied for determining NTDL system requirements and building architectural design solutions. In the scope of the project, analysis and simulations have also been conducted for the potential NTDL system.

Feasibility Project for Satellite Launching Center Establishment

With the project contract signed on October 2012 with Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM), a feasibility study for the establishment of a Satellite Launching Center in Turkey was conducted. Within the scope of the project, technical requirements of such system have been determined. Based on the current infrastructure in Turkey, procurement models, budget and schedule issues have been studied.

Road Map Project for Satellite and Space Technologies

With the project signed with Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) on July 2012, sub-units and technologies which can be used for national satellite and space industry and methods which are required to be followed for the development of "space-proven" products have been studied. Current national infrastructure and capabilities regarding the space and satellite systems, current manpower and expertise distributions in Turkey have been identified.

Projections for satellite systems which are planned to be procured in short, medium and long term, a detailed technology breakdown and prioritized technology areas for Turkey have been specified. Project proposals over 130, prepared by the companies, research institutions and universities within the scope of "heritage plan" have been evaluated. Projects, which are expected to be realized in short and mid-term, are forecasted in terms of their technical, budget and manpower need, and moreover the corresponding suggestions are made.

Feasibility Project for Integrated Software Excellence Research Program (ISERP)

Upon the ISERP Feasibility Project contract signed with Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) on  December 2013; it was aimed to contribute to the companies selected in defence industry in terms of their software capabilities. The companies have been examined in terms of their software technologies and applications, to determine the requirements and research issues, to make evaluations for the industry  and ultimately to form a software development technologies perfection model.

For sustaining and developing the capabilities and proficiencies that should be gained by companies, Software Development Technologies Perfection Model has been generated with the assistance of academic consultants.

Aerospace Technologies Test Center of Excellence Feasibility Project

  • Within the Aerospace Technologies Test Center of Excellence Feasibility Project initiated by Directorate General of Aerospace Technologies and signed with TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, technical consultancy service is being provided by STM.
  • Within the scope, feasibility study for test center infrastructure is being performed for increasing the capability and capacity of national industry, development of internationally competitive and high quality products and standard improvement of current aviation goods and services.
