Our R&D-driven investments and initiatives have played a crucial role in the development of many national technologies, including Türkiye’s first indigenous special operations and attack submarine, STM500; our Autonomous Unmanned Underwater Vehicle STM NETA; the munition-dropping UAV BOYGA; KARGU FPV; and many others.

Indigenization
Indigenization, one of the most critical components of our national defense vision, stands at the forefront of STM’s focus areas. Developing critical products and subsystems domestically, reducing foreign dependency, and achieving full independence in the defense industry form the core of our efforts.
From platforms to subsystems, sensors to software solutions, we conduct a broad spectrum of indigenization activities, aiming to create indigenous technologies by leveraging Türkiye’s unique engineering capabilities, innovation power, and industrial infrastructure.
We actively collaborate with local industries to increase knowledge sharing and expertise transfer, striving to make our domestically developed products competitive not only for domestic needs but also in international markets. For STM, indigenization is not merely a technological achievement it is a cornerstone of Türkiye’s strategic independence and a sustainable defense industry.
