STM, a leading company in the Turkish defence sector, is celebrating the 32nd anniversary of its birth.
Having been established on 3 May, 1991, upon a decision of the Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSIK) to provide the Defence Industry Agency (SSM) of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Armed Forces with project management, system engineering, technology transfer, technical and logistics support and consultancy services in fields requiring advanced technologies in support of the national security of Türkiye, STM Savunma Teknolojileri, Mühendislik ve Ticaret A.Ş. has since been strengthening the defence capabilities of the Turkish Army as well as those of other nations around world.
STM has made significant investments to further expand the engineering and technological capabilities it has gained from critical tasks undertaken as part of national projects in the Turkish defence sector. Today, it is engaged in a wide range of areas, including naval projects, cybersecurity, tactical mini UAV systems, radar systems, satellite technologies, command and control systems, and certification and consultancy works.
STM offers solutions that meet the needs of the public and private sectors in Türkiye with indigenous critical systems that are developed using domestic resources. The company also makes export-oriented marketing efforts that contribute to the competitiveness of the Turkish defence sector in the global arena.
STM Takes Strong Steps in the Global Arena
Aside from its role in the most significant national projects being conducted by the Turkish defence sector, STM is also engaged in export and business development activities in more than 20 countries, including several NATO members. After taking the roles of designer and main contractor in the TCG İSTANBUL (F-515) programme for Türkiye’s first national frigate, STM is continuing its efforts in the maritime field in the production of the STM500 small-sized national submarine. As the manufacturer of KARGU, the National Attack UAV System, STM also powers Türkiye in cyberspace through STM-SFM, Türkiye’s first Cyber Fusion Centre.
Taking strong steps in the global arena, STM is engaged in shipbuilding and modernisation projects for Pakistan and Ukraine in the naval field, and is developing software in the INTEL-FS 2 project aimed at securing NATO’s intelligence flow. The tactical mini UAV systems developed by STM serve not only in Türkiye’s military operations, but also in almost 10 countries on three continents.
We have been producing cutting-edge technologies with our indigenous engineering skills for 32 years. 💪🏼
