Jointly developed by STM and Robotek, Türkiye’s first indigenous and national Fin Stabilizing System has been designed to mitigate the forces exerted on surface combatants by external factors such as wind, waves, currents, and storms, thereby enabling naval platforms to safely continue their combat missions under adverse environmental conditions.
Mounted on the submerged part of the ship’s hull, the Fin Stabilizing System becomes operational during severe sea states, supporting the vessel’s stabilization and enhancing overall seaworthiness.
The national Fin Stabilizing System has been developed to provide resistance to excessive rolling of ships in both directions, allowing vessels to operate safely even in rough seas. The system also enhances the safety of personnel and improves the operational efficiency of naval platforms by minimizing movements caused by challenging sea conditions or sudden maneuvers encountered during navigation and combat operations.
Furthermore, the Fin Stabilizing System provides critical support for helicopter operations, weapon stabilization during firing, and supply, material, and personnel transfers at sea. Distinguished by its robust design capable of withstanding harsh maritime conditions, the system features automatic and adaptive operating capabilities.
Türkiye’s first indigenous and national Fin Stabilizing System has been integrated into two corvettes under an export project led by STM. The system is also employed on MILGEM İ-Class Frigates as part of Türkiye’s national frigate program.
