Ukrainian Corvette Project
Türkiye’s FIRST and Only Corvette Export to Europe
A contract for the Ukrainian Corvette Project was signed on 17 December 2020 between STM and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, marking the start of the program.
Under STM’s leadership as the main contractor, the project involves technology transfer and the construction of two corvettes in Türkiye. The first vessel, Hetman Ivan Mazepa Corvette, commenced steel cutting on 28 April 2021 and was launched on 2 October 2022. The Hetman Ivan Mazepa Corvette began its sea acceptance trials on 29 May 2024.
The second ship of the project, the Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi Corvette, was launched on 1 August 2024 and is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
Through the Ukrainian Corvette Project, STM has successfully executed Türkiye’s first and only corvette export to Europe.
